Paramythia, Thesprotia – January 23, 2026
Alesco successfully inaugurated Greece’s first modern, energy-autonomous ultra-fast electric vehicle (EV) charging hub, with a total installed capacity of 600 kW, located in Paramythia, Thesprotia. The project marks a new era for e-mobility and energy infrastructure in Greece, elevating technology from the level of urban mobility to a critical transport and logistics infrastructure.
The hub was implemented by Alesco in collaboration with technology partner Huawei Digital Power and serves as a benchmark for energy autonomy, combining ultra-fast chargers, photovoltaic power generation and advanced energy storage systems. The energy produced on site is stored in batteries and utilized throughout the day, significantly reducing dependence on the electricity grid.
According to Alesco’s data, approximately 3,500 charging sessions per year – nearly 10 per day – will be carried out exclusively using 100% green, solar energy, substantially enhancing the project’s environmental footprint.
From passenger mobility to logistics
The existing station delivers up to 600 kW across five charging points, while an application has already been submitted for the installation of an 800 kW DC charger, expanding the network to include heavy-duty vehicles. In this way, the Paramythia hub broadens its role, serving professional fleets, heavy vehicles and freight transport, and evolving into a critical logistics infrastructure.
The strategic location of Paramythia, with direct connectivity to the Port of Igoumenitsa, the Egnatia Motorway and the country’s main road corridors, further strengthens the hub’s role as an energy support node for both international and domestic transport flows.
Statements
The Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Mr. Konstantinos Kyranakis, stated:
“Today confirms that Greece is moving steadily toward the modernization of its transport and energy infrastructure. Projects such as this one by Alesco demonstrate that e-mobility is not a plan for the future, but a reality being delivered today through expertise, partnerships and a clear strategy. The State actively supports such initiatives, as they contribute to sustainable development and strengthen the country’s competitiveness.”
Mr. Stavros Alexis, CEO of Alesco, commented:
“Paramythia’s station reflects our core philosophy: high-power infrastructure, energy autonomy and tangible value for the economy. We have already submitted an application for an 800 kW DC charger, bringing heavy-duty vehicles into our network.
Electromobility is now moving beyond passenger transport to professional and freight transport, and Alesco is at the forefront of this transition.”
Mr. Ren Fujun, CEO of Huawei Southeast Europe, noted:
“Today’s event marks a significant milestone for e-mobility in Greece. Through our collaboration with Alesco, we demonstrate in practice how innovative technological solutions can support the transition to a more sustainable and energy-efficient future. The ultra-fast charging solutions implemented in Paramythia – Igoumenitsa set a benchmark for the next generation of energy infrastructure across Europe. Accelerating the energy transition in Greece and the wider region is a key priority for us, by delivering smart, efficient and green solutions for all.”
A project with long-term perspective
The Paramythia hub is one of twelve stations currently under construction as part of Alesco’s broader investment plan to establish a nationwide ultra-fast charging network. At the same time, it serves as a foundation for the next phase of e-mobility, which includes charging infrastructure for heavy-duty vehicles and professional fleets.
The collaboration between the Greek company Alesco and Huawei Digital Power highlights the capacity of the domestic market to deliver complex, high-specification energy projects, positioning Greece on the map of Europe’s advanced e-mobility infrastructure.
